So, I've sunk a frankly embarrassing number of hours into Acrylic Nails!, and I gotta say, for a hyper-casual time-killer on my android, it's weirdly addictive. Developed by CrazyLabs LTD, this is a pure mobile game first released on the Google Play Store and App Store. It's 100% free to download and play, but like most in its genre, it's loaded with in app ads that pop up between nearly every nail session. You can pay real money to remove them, but honestly? The cost for an ad-free experience is a few bucks, though most players just tough it out. It's racked up over 10 million installs on Google Play alone, so clearly I'm not the only one obsessed with virtual nail art. It's strictly a mobile game, though—don't expect to find it on Steam or any console like the Xbox or Switch. This is your bus stop or couch gaming fix.

Getting into the game is dead simple. You pick a hand, choose your nail shape, then go wild with colors, patterns, glitter, and stickers. The best part? The tapping is incredibly satisfying. The sound effects as you "drill" the nail or tap on gems are oddly meditative. My favorite feature is the "acrylic powder" step; you dip the finger into a pot of powder and then tap to dry, which feels more tactile than the standard painting apps. The game challenges you to match specific designs for "customers" to earn coins, which you use to unlock more extravagant polish collections. It scratches that creative itch without any real commitment—perfect for winding down.

Compared to other nail games, like Makeup Kit: Nail Salon or Girls Nail Salon 2, I'd say Acrylic Nails! feels more authentic in its process. The other titles often feel like you're just slapping on a sticker; this one actually walks you through the gel or acrylic routine. If you're a mobile gamer who enjoys ASMR-adjacent tasks and creative freedom, I'd recommend this over the competition. It's not deep—it's just pure, relaxing fun. As a real user, I appreciate that the designs I made actually looked decent when finished, unlike some other apps where the brush controls felt laggy.

features

  • Acrylic Nail Process 💅 – Unlike simpler games that just paint over a base, this one simulates the real acrylic process: dipping, drying, and shaping. It makes the end result feel earned.
  • Haptic Feedback 🎮 – On android, the subtle vibrations when you tap the polish or file the nail really boost the immersion. It's a small touch, but it makes the whole app feel more premium than its peers.
  • Color Variety 🎨 – The palette is massive. You're not stuck with just pink and red; you unlock matte, metallic, and glitter finishes that few other google play nail games offer without a premium purchase.

pros

  • No Paywall for Creativity 🎟️ – You can grind your way to unlock almost everything. In games like Girls Nail Salon 2, you'd hit a wall unless you caved and bought coins. Here, you just watch a short ad to double your earnings, which feels fair for a free download.
  • Satisfying Game Loop 🔄 – The cycle of "take order, match design, earn coins, buy bling" is tight and keeps you coming back. It avoids the boring repetition of Makeup Kit where every client wants the same look.
  • Realistic Tools 🛠️ – The file, buffer, and drill tools behave closer to real life than you'd expect from a mobile app. It's the closest I've gotten to doing acrylics without the smell.

cons

  • Too Many Ads 📺 – After every client, you're hit with a 30-second video. It's the main reason I almost uninstalled it the first day. Other games like Spa Salon spread them out better.
  • Limited Customer Variety 👤 – You'll see the same five hand models over and over. It gets dull, unlike in Nail Art Designer where at least the hands have different skin tones and textures.
  • No Free Mode 🖌️ – You can't just open a blank canvas and go wild. You always have to fulfill a customer's request, which kills the pure creative freedom I wanted when I chose to install this.
