Cry Babies is a casual mobile game based on the popular doll line and animated series from IMC Toys. If you have ever searched for Cry Babies on Google Play or the App Store, you have probably seen this colorful little title sitting there with millions of downloads. The game first launched around 2020 and is available on Android and iOS. It is not on PC or consoles, so no Steam, Xbox, or Switch version exists. You can download and install it for free, which is nice, but it does come with in app purchases. Those purchases usually run from a couple of dollars up to around twenty dollars if you want bigger packs of gems or coins. There are also ads, though they are not too aggressive if you are just messing around. The install count is solid, sitting in the millions on Google Play alone, which makes sense for a kids game tied to a big toy brand.

Playing Cry Babies is simple. You pick a baby, take care of it, feed it, change it, play mini games, and unlock new outfits and rooms. The best part for me is the mini games because they are short and actually kind of relaxing. My favorite thing is collecting new babies and decorating their little world. It feels like a tiny dollhouse that fits in your pocket. The touch controls work fine on android phones, and I never had trouble tapping through menus or dragging items around. It is not a deep game by any means, but it knows what it is. You do not need to learn a hundred systems. You just jump in, do a few tasks, and put it down. That pick up and play loop is exactly why I keep it installed on my phone.

Compared with other casual baby games like Toca Boca World or Pepi Hospital, Cry Babies is more focused on the characters from the show. Toca Boca gives you more freedom and weird sandbox stuff, while Pepi Hospital is more about silly medical role play. Cry Babies sits somewhere in the middle. It is more guided, which is great for younger players or anyone who does not want to think too hard. I recommend it over those other games if you or your kid already loves the Cry Babies toys. The app does not try to be something it is not. It is a simple, cute, free download that works well on android and does not force you to pay to have fun. Just be ready for the usual in app purchase pop ups.

features

  • Easy touch controls 🎮 The game is built for phones, so tapping, dragging, and swiping all feel natural even on a small screen.
  • Mini games that break up the routine 🎲 Instead of just feeding and cleaning, you get quick little challenges that keep things from getting boring.
  • Character collection 👶 You unlock different Cry Babies as you play, which is the main hook if you already like the dolls or the cartoon.
  • Free to download and install 📥 You can grab it from Google Play or the App Store without paying upfront, though in app purchases and ads are there.

pros

  • Great for young fans of the brand 💖 If your kid already watches the show or owns the dolls, this app is a direct extension of that world and they will recognize everything.
  • Simple and stress free 🌈 Compared with Toca Boca World, this game does not overwhelm you with options. It is guided, calm, and easy to understand.
  • Works well on most android phones 📱 I tested it on a mid range device and had no lag or crashes. The download size is small too, so storage is not a big issue.

cons

  • In app purchases get pushy 💸 Compared with Pepi Hospital, which feels more generous with free content, Cry Babies keeps showing you gem packs and special items you need to buy.
  • Not much depth for older players 😴 Toca Boca World gives you way more creative tools. Here, you run out of new things to do pretty fast if you are not a kid.
  • Ads interrupt the flow 📺 They are not constant, but they pop up enough to break the relaxing mood, especially after finishing a mini game.
