Maze Craze is a casual puzzle game developed by WEEGOON, and it is the kind of title you can pick up on your phone whenever you have a few spare minutes. It is a pure mobile game, so you will not find it on Steam, Xbox, or Switch. You can grab it from the Google Play Store on Android devices and from the App Store if you are on iOS. The game has been around for a while now and has built up a decent install base, somewhere in the millions across both stores. The best part is that it is free to download and install, so there is no barrier to trying it out. There are in-app ads, and you can pay to remove them if they start bothering you. There are also some in-game purchases for hints or extra coins, but nothing that costs a lot. Most of the small stuff runs just a couple of dollars, so you never feel like the app is trying to drain your wallet.

Playing Maze Craze is simple. You swipe to move your character through a maze, collect keys, dodge traps, and reach the exit. Later levels throw in moving walls, enemies, and timed doors that keep you on your toes. The controls are smooth, and the difficulty curve feels fair most of the time. What I like most is how the game mixes classic maze navigation with light puzzle elements, so it is not just mindless walking. You actually have to stop and think about the route before you move. My favorite part is the level design in the mid-game, where the mazes get clever without feeling unfair. I also enjoy the short level length, which makes it perfect for quick sessions on the bus or during a lunch break.

Compared with other maze and puzzle games like Maze Runner or Classic Labyrinth, Maze Craze feels more modern and polished. The visuals are clean, the touch controls respond well, and the ads are not as aggressive as in some free puzzle apps. I have played a few similar titles where the ads pop up every thirty seconds, and that kills the fun fast. Here, the balance is better, and you can actually sit down and enjoy a run of levels without constant interruptions. If you like simple puzzle games that respect your time, this one is worth a download. It is not perfect, but for a free mobile game, it does a lot right.

features

  • Simple swipe controls 🎮: You just swipe to move your character, so anyone can pick it up in seconds, no tutorials needed.
  • Short and snappy levels ⏱️: Each maze takes a minute or two, which makes it great for quick breaks, unlike bigger puzzle games that demand long sessions.
  • Clean and colorful visuals 🎨: The art style is bright and easy on the eyes, and it stands out from darker maze games like Classic Labyrinth.
  • Fair difficulty curve 📈: The early levels teach you the basics, and the later ones add moving walls and enemies without spiking too hard.
  • Free with optional purchases 💰: You can play the whole thing without spending a cent, and the paid stuff is cheap and not pushed in your face.

pros

  • Great for short sessions ⚡: The level design fits perfectly into small chunks of time, which makes it way more practical than long-session puzzle games like The Room.
  • Smooth touch controls 👍: Swiping feels responsive, and I rarely misjudged a move, which is more than I can say for some clunky maze apps on Android.
  • Polished look and feel ✨: The clean visuals and simple UI make it feel more premium than most free maze games, and it does not feel cheap or rushed.
  • Balanced ad system 🎯: Compared with other free puzzle games on Google Play, the ads here are less intrusive, so you can actually focus on the maze.

cons

  • Repetitive after a while 😴: Once you have played a few dozen levels, the formula starts to feel samey, and it lacks the variety of something like Monument Valley.
  • Ads still break the flow 📺: Even though they are less aggressive than in other free apps, the ads still pop up between levels and pull you out of the zone.
  • Limited long-term depth 📉: There is not much beyond the main levels, and compared with bigger puzzle games like Cut the Rope, it does not offer as much to come back to.
