So, this is Horoscopes & Tarot by Astrolis. It's exactly what it sounds like – a mobile app for daily horoscopes and tarot card readings. You go on Google Play or the App Store, see it's got a decent number of installs, and it's free to download. After you install it and launch it for the first time, you're hit with a pretty clean, dark-themed interface. It asks you to put in your birth date right away, which is kind of standard for this genre. My first thought was that it felt more serious than some of the other flashy, cartoonish astrology apps out there. No registration wall or forced sign-up, which was a nice change of pace. You just plug in your info and you're in.

Using the app day to day, it's straightforward. You open it up and there's your daily horoscope waiting for you, broken down by sun sign. But the real reason you'd stick around is the tarot section. You tap on it, and you're presented with a few different spreads – a single card pull, a three-card spread for past-present-future, and a longer Celtic Cross. You pick a spread, focus on a question in your head, and then tap the deck to draw. The cards flip over with a little animation, and you get a detailed write-up for each card. The interface is simple, but I did find that navigating back to the main menu felt a bit clunky at first. A practical tip: the app saves your past card pulls, so you can go back and read old readings, which is handy if you like tracking patterns.

After a couple of weeks with it, I have pretty mixed feelings. If you're into tarot and want something that feels like a genuine deck without the fluff, this app nails it. The interpretations are detailed and actually tie into traditional Rider-Waite meanings. Compared to something like Co-Star, which feels more like a social network for your birth chart, Astrolis is much more focused. You won't find daily notifications telling you your moon sign is being aggressive. That's a pro for some, but a con for others. I could see someone who just wants a quick, snappy horoscope feeling bored here. Me? I kept it installed because the tarot draws are genuinely useful for journaling. I'd uninstall it if I wanted something more interactive or community-driven. It's a tool, not a toy.

features

  • 🎴 The tarot readings here are surprisingly deep. Each card comes with a full breakdown of its upright and reversed meaning, plus how it applies to love, career, and personal growth. Most other horoscope apps just give you a one-line summary, but this one feels like sitting down with a real book on tarot.
  • 🔮 The birth chart integration is subtle but smart. Unlike apps like Daily Horoscope that treat your sun sign as the end of the story, Astrolis pulls in your moon and rising signs behind the scenes. Your daily horoscope actually feels tailored to you, not just a generic copy-paste for your zodiac sign.
  • 📝 The journaling feature is a hidden gem. You can save any tarot pull or horoscope and add your own notes. I compared it to The Pattern, which gives you personality insights but no way to track your own thoughts over time. Here, you can literally see how your readings evolve week to week.

pros

  • ✅ No subscription required for basic features. Most apps like Co-Star or Sanctuary push a premium plan hard for detailed readings. Astrolis gives you the full tarot spreads and daily horoscopes for free, with only non-intrusive ads.
  • ✅ The interface is clean and clutter-free. Compared to AstroMatrix, which throws charts, aspects, and transits at you all at once, Astrolis is calm and easy to navigate. You can focus on one reading without getting overwhelmed.
  • ✅ Accurate traditional interpretations. If you've studied tarot or astrology before, you'll notice Astrolis sticks closely to classical meanings. That's a big plus over apps like Tarot Life, which often modernize or water down the symbolism.

cons

  • ❌ Limited interactive features. There's no community chat or real-time live readings, like you get in Keen or Kasamba. If you want to ask a specific question and get an immediate answer, this app won't cut it.
  • ❌ The app lacks daily notifications. Most users expect a push notification for their daily horoscope, like TimePassages sends you. Astrolis doesn't do that, so you have to remember to open it yourself.
  • ❌ No transit tracking. Apps like Astro Gold or TimeNomad show you current planetary transits and aspects. Astrolis skips that entirely, so if you're into tracking Mercury retrograde or full moons, you'll need another app.
